Look at me go!

I have a communication class this semester and one of our latest projects was to choose a book and read to the class while pretending they were 4 years old. My teacher liked my book and asked if I would be interested in reading to the kids in the day care on campus! Absolutely! How fun! So, I went last Friday and read to the kids and loved it. I met the director and we started talking and I ended up leaving her my number just in case she ever needed help in the center. Well, she called me on Monday and offered me a job!!! WHAT!?!?! I am over the moon. It's set hours and I will be working with the children directly! I will basically be a teachers assistant. Only thing, there is no insurance and I don't have time to do this and Bux. Any thoughts?

Oh my!

I cannot believe it has already been a month! Wow how the time flies! So I'm loving work. The people I work with are really fun and my manager is great. I feel really appreciated which is a nice change. School is whizzing right along too. Mid-terms are this week which is always fun.

Matt and I are going to see Mason Jennings tonight, one of my favorites! Check him out, you won't be disappointed! Matt has a new job at the college. He is one of the gym supervisors. He seems to like it and he gets to work on soccer stuff while he is in the gym which is good too. Yup, life is moving right along.

Great Book

I just finished My Sisters Keeper by Jody Picolt. Have you read this yet? It is so good. I couldn't put it down. Very sad, read with tissues, but really good.

The lady who rents our house told us last week she is moving out. It has me really stressed out. Matt loosing his job no longer allows us to financially keep the house unless it is rented. We don't know anyone who is looking to rent, so we are thinking of selling. We are going to list it next week and see if there is any interest. I'm hoping the tax credit will help us. Please keep us in our thoughts.

Give me break!

I'm registered for 13 hours this semester which amounted to $1100. I, of course, did not qualify for any financial aide so we had to pay out of pocket. Then came my books!!! My english teacher did not require us to get any books, thank goodness! My political science book was $100, my communications book was $125 (which I might add was written by my teacher), and my spanish book was $160 dollars. This weekend we are supposed to do some of the spanish lessons in the workbook which is partly on line. I logged onto the website and it instructed me to pay a small fee. Small right, so I'm thinking $10 - $25, oh no! It is another $80! What the hell is going on here?!~?!? I can not believe how expensive college is. I know, you've all been there but it's all new to me. How did you all pay for your college education?

Oh my!

So I have a friend that was just certified to become a kettlebell instructor. Matt and I have been going over to her house so we can be her guinea pigs a few nights a week. All I can say is OMG! It is such a good workout. It's a whole body workout so in a 60 minute workout you burn 600 calories and work every muscle in your body! It is a real butt kicker! If you get a chance to try it out I highly recommend you do. She, in the passed 6 months, has lost 30 lbs and dropped 2 pants sizes. She goes 3-4 times a week and I'm only doing it 1-2 times a week. I can see how if you do this workout regularly it would whip you into shape!

Are you kidding me?

So I just sold my 7th and last thing on ebay. My grand total was $400! With shipping and fees I will take home $300. Isn't that great? How many of you have used ebay? Have you had good experiences? I would love to hear your stories.

Briley turned 4 yesterday. I talked to him on the phone for a second. He is such a cutie. He told me he was 4 and I said, "No way! You are 2 donkey!" He laughed and laughed. I can't wait to come home. I miss you all so much!

The power of people

It's been a long week. New schedule, new job, started school . . . I really like bux so far. The people I work with are great. They are a such a good team. It's like a little family. I feel bad because I don't know exactly what I'm doing yet so I can't help out as much as I would like but I know that will come with time. Today was really busy and everyone was drowning. It was a long and frustrating day for everyone. I came home discouraged. A woman I work with just called to say I did a good job today and that she is really impressed with the job I am doing so far and to not let today get me down. She said tomorrow is a new day and today is over and to let it go. It meant so much to me that she saw how frustrated I was and that she took the time to call and make sure I was okay. Isn't that great!??!! I think I'm really going to like it there.
